Love is in the air!

Ah. The sweet smell of overpriced Godiva chocolate and roses that will die within the 3 days after purchase. Yes people, Valentines Day is here, and as lame as ever, and comin' in hot.

Damn son, look at those baby cherubs with their lil' butts. "The power of Christ comPELLS YOU!"
Just kidding. Alright folks here we go.

First let's analyze what Valentines is.
A Hallmark holiday targeted at impressionable young couples and made for spending as much money on smelly flowers, gross chocolate, and stupid jewelry as humanly possible. But fear not, it's a normal day. And you are not alone in the world because you are single or you don't have a Valentine. :')

Now I'm no Negative Nancy, so let's talk about the fun stuff! Whether you're spending the day with ya lovuh, your friends, your family, or yourself, here's some fun shenanigans for you to enjoy on ~the day of luvvvvv~. :)

Some of my favorite Valentines themed projects I've found here on the good ole' web, have been cute drinks and snacks! I won't get into depth with each one, but I'll post links to my favorite recipes!

Okay now for those of you who are not so much interested in all of this DIY malarky, I figured I'd throw in some other interesting stuff I'd found while on the hunt for V-Day Goodies!

I'll admit, I was a little apprehensive on posting these because of how cool they are. I wanted to seem original and unique if I ended up giving them to my boyfriend. But eh, who cares right? ALL FOR THE GREATER GOOD. I found these bad boys a while back, and I knew they'd be awesome as a more "alternative" take on Valentines chocolates! Hopefully Yova doesn't read my blog because he just may be getting these! ;) A full box is a little pricey, but you can alternatively buy these little guys in sets of 4! Here's the link to check 'em out:

tate langdon american horror story Evan Peters mine violate Violet Harmon violet x tate valentines day Valentine black rose kit walker

Ah nothing like a little Evan Peters to start your Valentines day right. Kidding. But the boy was smart in giving Violet some black roses. Now this could seem very My Chemical Romance circa 2005, but in some weird, Hot Topic love, kinda way, the idea of black roses is kind of adorable? If you're gonna go with flowers, do something a little different, eh? I couldn't find a specific link for these bad boys, but here's a how to!-

Okay so I posted some DIY macaroons before, but you can purchase these simple macaroons anywhere now-a-days! They have kits to make your own in a bunch of grocery stores, and you can purchas big boxes of them from pretty much any bakery! They're not too unique, but definitely a little different from your typical chocolate chip cookie! Love how bright these ones are! :)

Now more than anything, I want to press the issue that spending money on someone does not mean LOVE. This holiday is so focused on how much you spend or how much you give, but really, the important thing we realize is that it should be about love and caring for one another. If you're not loving the idea of cheesy romantic dates and presents, sometimes the best things are the smallest things we just look over every day. Fill your significant others gas tank up, get them a manicure/pedicure gift certificate, buy them some new pj's, or just take the day off work and spend time together. Tell them all your mooshy, gross feelings in a card. Ain't nothing more heartwarming than knowing someone really gives a shit about you, am I right? I am right. I'm frequently right. And on that note, this is the end of my blogpost. I hope you all found some inspiration from this and have a fantastic Valentines day, no matter what you do!

Talk to you all soon! :) xo
